Circle of Spiritual Care and Sacred Support
EARS (Empathy, Action, Ritual, Support)
On March 22, 2025, the Circle of Spiritual Care and Sacred Support held its first meeting. The curious and
the committed joined to share ideas and plans for supporting the growing Pagan Assembly of
Nova Scotia. People contributed their passions, their skills and their engagement to the goal of
building a strong, supportive faith community.
From this core group of dedicated members, the following initiatives have been implemented:
• maintenance of a perpetual altar for prayer requests,
• hospital, nursing home and health care visitation,
• creation of greeting cards; congratulatory, condolence and get well,
• online Parental Support Group,
• online Grief Support Group,
• prison visitation and community outreach,
• support for the training of volunteers for Circle of Spiritual Care and Sacred Support
initiatives
Maintenance of a Perpetual Altar
Dedicated members of the Circle of Spiritual Care and Support team maintain a perpetual altar with the purpose of making prayer requests and offerings on behalf of the Assembly membership. If you have a personal request for the altar, please reach out with an appropriately detailed explanation.
Hospital, Nursing Home and Health Care Visitation
Community heals. If you or someone you know would appreciate a visit from an Assembly member. Please reach out. Spiritual care is an important part in healing. Sometimes more is needed. If you are struggling, there are many support opportunities. Please connect with the resources that will best foster your wellness journey.
Greeting Cards
Is there someone in the community that has reached an important milestone? Lost a loved one? Is suffering from illness or injury? Or perhaps just needs a friendly gesture? The Circle of Spiritual Care and Sacred Support has a greeting card program. Reach out with an address and a brief explanation, the Assembly and Canada Post will do the rest.
Parental Support Group
Your children are great, right? But sometimes its just nice to connect with others that are going through the same rollercoaster ride of joy and heartbreak, pride and frustration. The Circle of Spiritual Care and Support team has an online Parental Support Group. Reach out if you would like to participate.
Grief Support Group
Everyone’s grief is unique. But it doesn’t have to be isolating. If you are struggling with loss and sadness, the Circle of Spiritual Care and Sacred Support team has an online Grief Support Group. Reach out and find community.
Prison Visitation and Community Outreach
The Pagan Assembly of Nova Scotia supports people on a Pagan spiritual journey in prison or recently released into the community. If you or someone you know would benefit from this connection, reach out.
Volunteer Training
You are thinking: this is amazing! I would love this! But then the self doubt kicks in. The Circle of Spiritual Care and Sacred Support supports volunteers when required with online training and one on one mentorship. If you have a need, a passion or a skill that you are interested in sharing with our faith community, please contact the Pagan Assembly of Nova Scotia.
